Starting Roll

To begin playing the game, each player rolls a single die. The player with the higher number moves first using both numbers rolled from each of the die. If both players roll the same number, the dice are rolled again until they roll different numbers. The player with the high die must use the numbers from the rolled dice.

In the image below, each player has rolled one die, a 6 and a 1. Since the player with the white checkers rolled the 6, she goes first. She must move her checkers a 6 and a 1.
